Old Ezra is the 15-year version of Luxco’s standard rye mash bourbon line, Ezra Brooks. If you’re not familiar with Ezra Brooks, don’t worry. It’s not that they’re newcomers to the bourbon scene, it’s really just that they’re not as well marketed and not as well known as many others. The part is due to their history as a sourced bourbon. Regardless, Ezra Brooks is a Heaven Hill sourced bourbon bottled by Luxco (of Rebel Yell).
Old Ezra 15-Year-Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Caramel, orange blossom, crushed hazelnuts, a peppery flourish of oak.
Palate: Warming cedar spice denys on the palate, joined by robust vanilla and a touch of corn.
Finish: Quite long, with a fiery hint of cinnamon and red chili right on the end.
