Distillery Information
Knob Creek is a Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey owned by Beam Suntory and produced at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont. Along with Booker's, Baker's and Basil Hayden's it was part of the small batch Bourbon range introduced in 1992 by Booker Noe (1929-2004), grandson of Jim Beam. Noe is credited as being the father of the small batch Bourbon category. Knob Creek is named after the stream that flows through President Abraham Lincoln's childhood home in Kentucky. The whiskeys are known for their deep color and sweet, rich, woody, caramel flavor, which derives from extended aging. The Single Barrel Reserve spends nine years in wood before release which is a remarkable length of aging for a whiskey. Booker Noe intended for this style to hark back to pre-Prohibition Bourbon.
