The Stitzel-Weller distillery is known for producing some of the world s best bourbon and rye whiskeys. In the winter of 1991, the distillery closed its doors, ending production of some of history s finest whiskeys.
17 years later, the producers of Jefferson s bourbons found several barrels of the Sitzel-Weller wheated bourbon. These found barrels represent the last remaining Stitzel-Weller bourbon. This 18-year-old Jeffersons Presidential Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is without exaggeration a masterpiece from the Stitzel-Weller distillery and is one of the world's leading whiskey rarities. Today it is a special collector's rarity for connoisseurs and lovers of first-class bourbon whiskeys.
Distillery Information
Stitzel–Weller Distillery is a former distillery located in Shively, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1935 and closed in 1972. It produced a number of notable brands, and since 2014 it has served as a public tourism site for Bulleit Bourbon, as part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
